Crane Camera Shot

Crane Camera Shot is a film technique where the camera takes a shot from a crane. A crane enables the camera to traverse great distances up and down, as well as forward and backwards and from side to side while flying high in the air. Crane shots are often long or extreme long shots that often give the viewer a feeling of omniscience over the characters as such they are well used if a director wishes to make the audience feel as though they have the power.
